Fruit Tarts

It has been entirely too long since I've been able to post a new recipe that I've tried, but I have one tonight. I volunteered to make a dessert for my parents' small group Bible study that meets at our house every other week. I was looking at recipes online this afternoon, when the idea of a fruit tart popped into my head. I found a Paula Dean recipe for one, and decided to try it out. It was YUM, and everyone seemed to love it. The recipe is for one, but I doubled it to make two. I also did not have tart pans, so I had to make do with smaller pie pans. It made the crust much thicker, but I really liked it that way. Also, the cook time for the crusts was at least doubled for mine. It also took me far longer than 2 minutes to get the glaze to thicken...not sure why. I think my favorite part of it was arranging all the fruit on them. It was like a little art project. :D

Wow!! Those look amazing....
I wish I could make those... but given I'm the only one in the house that eats fruit (or is allowed to since bethany is banned from all things berries, mangoes and pineapple thanks to the dr) I won't be able to. *sob* Don't think I could eat a whole one. Just looking at the pictures has me drooling though. Thanks so much for sharing your cooking adventures... I for one thoroughly enjoy them!
